The challenge
The resort needed an efficient, guest-friendly transportation system to connect key areas like accommodations, dining, and activity zones. EasyMile’s autonomous shuttles required a sophisticated software layer to coordinate routes, avoid conflicts, and integrate seamlessly with resort operations. The challenge was to create an intuitive, reliable system that served both guests and staff.
The solution
We developed a multi-component software ecosystem to manage the resort’s autonomous shuttle network:
• In-Shuttle Display App: A user-friendly app installed inside each shuttle, showing real-time destination updates and route information—similar to screens on a bus or train.
• Kiosk Station App: Deployed at shuttle stops, this app provides guests with schedules, shuttle statuses, and estimated arrival times, mimicking the convenience of a train station interface.
• Operator Management App: A powerful tool for site operators to create shuttle lines, assign vehicles, and monitor the entire system in real time, ensuring smooth operations across the resort.
• Real-Time Backend: The backbone of the system, this backend integrates with EasyMile’s REST API to send missions to the shuttles. It builds trips from operator-defined lines, transforms them into shuttle-compatible missions, and includes conflict avoidance logic to prevent overlapping routes. Built with scalability and reliability in mind, the solution leverages modern frameworks and cloud infrastructure to handle real-time data and ensure uninterrupted service.
